Apparently a good blog should have a 'well-crafted summary'. I'm not sure if this is well-crafted but it's a summary. Or really an introduction.
I am a Headteacher that loves doing stuff. But I recently found myself in the throes (or woes) of midlife with a number of things conspiring to make life more difficult: burnout, stress, menopause...
I'm still working this out but some of the things I especially love are:
*walking
*reading
*history
*travelling and learning about new places
*Shakespeare, words and language
*art and being creative
*getting things for free
I found myself creating this blog as an outlet and following advice as a way to 'explore my passions'. Originally, this was to help make me feel more positive and get some clarity in life but I was secretly hoping it might lead to me discovering a way out of leadership.
It hasn't taken me out of leadership roles but I love writing about places and things and I see it growing as I continue my career with a renewed optimism and a change of focus.
So if you are a leader in education (or maybe other fields), are midlife-ish, or like any of the things I've listed, stick around as who knows where this will lead.
